We are seeking an experienced and analytical Infection Control Registered Nurse to lead and support infection prevention initiatives in a Winnipeg-based acute care facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for surveillance, investigation, education, and control of infectious diseases within the healthcare setting.
This role plays a key part in ensuring the safety of both patients and staff, and requires a deep understanding of epidemiology, public health principles, and regulatory compliance.
Responsabilidades clave

Conduct surveillance and reporting of hospital-acquired infections (HAIs)

Lead outbreak investigations and coordinate response efforts

Educate clinical staff on infection prevention protocols and PPE use

Develop and update infection control policies and procedures

Collaborate with public health authorities and hospital leadership

Perform audits and risk assessments in high-risk units

Monitor hand hygiene compliance and isolation practices
Requisitos
-
Active RN license in Canada (CRNM or eligibility for Manitoba licensure)

Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred or in progress

Mínimo 2 years’ experience in infection prevention or acute care nursing

Strong knowledge of IPAC standards and provincial health regulations

Excellent communication, training, and documentation skills

Familiarity with surveillance systems and electronic health records
