We are currently seeking a dedicated Trabajador de apoyo personal (PSW) to join a supportive mental health care team in Whitehorse. This role involves assisting individuals with mental health conditions in a residential or supportive living setting. The PSW will provide daily living support, encourage personal wellness routines, and help clients maintain independence while navigating recovery.

Responsabilidades clave

Assist residents with personal care, including bathing, grooming, and dressing

Support clients in managing medications, meals, and household routines

Provide companionship and encourage participation in daily activities

Monitor behavior and emotional wellbeing, and report changes to clinical staff

Use de-escalation strategies to support clients in distress

Maintain a clean, safe, and structured living environment

Support community integration and access to wellness resources
Requisitos
-
Válido Personal Support Worker Certificate (recognized in Canada)

Prior experience supporting individuals with mental health or behavioral challenges

Actual First Aid/CPR certificación

Non-violent crisis intervention training (e.g., CPI or equivalent) preferred

Excellent communication, boundary-setting, and problem-solving skills

Willingness to work shifts including weekends and overnights

Ability to work in a Travel Assignment northern community setting
