A well-established regional hospital in Terrace, BC is seeking a highly organized and clinically skilled Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join its surgical team on a full-time basis. The RN will provide intraoperative care for a wide range of surgical procedures, including general, orthopedic, gynecologic, and emergency surgeries.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform circulating and/or scrub nurse duties during surgical procedures

• Maintain a sterile environment and ensure safe handling of instruments and equipment

• Monitor patient condition throughout the surgical process

• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists

• Respond promptly to emergencies and intraoperative changes

• Document intraoperative care and ensure accurate patient records

• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and infection control initiatives

Requirements

• Active RN license with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)

• Completion of a recognized Perioperative Nursing Program or equivalent experience

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications

• Minimum 1 year of OR experience in a hospital setting

• Strong understanding of surgical asepsis, instrumentation, and patient safety

• Ability to work on-call and handle after-hours emergency procedures

• Excellent teamwork and critical thinking skills
