Job Overview
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel contract in Ottawa. The role involves caring for patients undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, and surgical cancer treatments in both inpatient and outpatient oncology settings.
This position is ideal for nurses who are passionate about oncology, emotionally resilient, and experienced in complex medication administration and symptom management.
Key Responsibilities

Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and supportive medications safely

Monitor patient responses and manage treatment side effects

Educate patients and families on cancer treatments and care plans

Provide emotional support and end-of-life care as needed

Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, and allied health teams

Maintain accurate documentation in EMR systems

Adhere to infection control and oncology safety protocols
Requirements
-
Active RN license with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) or eligibility
-
Minimum 2 years of recent experience in oncology or medical-surgical nursing

Chemotherapy certification required (deSouza or equivalent)

Current BLS (ACLS an asset)

Exceptional communication and compassion for oncology patients
