Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Medical-Surgical Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for a travel contract in Yellowknife. You will work closely with RNs and physicians to provide direct patient care, medication administration, and post-surgical support in a fast-paced hospital unit.
Ideal for RPNs who are confident, organized, and passionate about acute care.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver patient-centered nursing care on a general medical-surgical unit

Monitor vital signs, manage medications, and assist with treatments

Support pre- and post-operative care, including wound management and mobility assistance

Provide patient education and discharge planning support

Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams

Maintain accurate clinical records in electronic charting systems

Follow infection control procedures and patient safety protocols
Requirements
-
Active RPN license with the Government of Northwest Territories or eligibility to register
-
Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a med-surg or acute care setting

Current BLS certification

Excellent time management and clinical skills

Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

Fully vaccinated and clear criminal/vulnerable sector background check
