We are seeking a compassionate and resilient Infirmier(e) itinérant(e) pour rejoindre le Acute Psychiatry Unit at a mental health hospital in Thunder Bay, ON. In this role, you’ll provide care to adults experiencing acute psychiatric crises, including mood disorders, psychosis, and concurrent substance use.
Ideal for nurses experienced in behavioral health and crisis intervention, this position offers a chance to make a lasting impact while enjoying flexible contract-based work.
Principales responsabilités

Provide therapeutic, recovery-focused nursing care in an inpatient psychiatric setting

Monitor mental status, administer medications, and respond to psychiatric emergencies

Use de-escalation and trauma-informed care strategies in challenging situations

Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and allied mental health staff

Maintain clear and timely documentation

Contribute to individualized care plans and discharge readiness
Exigences
-
Actif Licence d'infirmier(ère) diplômé(e) avec le Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers de l'Ontario (OIIO) (or eligibility)

Minimum 2 ans of recent psychiatric nursing experience in inpatient settings

Actuel BLS certification (CPI/NVCI or equivalent de-escalation training preferred)

Strong communication, observational, and crisis-management skills

Ability to work independently and adapt quickly in high-acuity environments

Fully vaccinated with TB clearance and vulnerable sector screening
