Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Support Worker (PSW) for a travel position in a long term care facility located in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. This role involves delivering direct care and daily living assistance to elderly residents, while working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary care team.

This is an excellent opportunity for PSWs who are passionate about geriatric care and looking to explore new regions through short-term travel contracts.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal hygiene, dressing, and feeding

• Support mobility, positioning, and safe transferring of residents

• Provide companionship and emotional support

• Monitor and report any changes in health or behavior to supervising staff

• Promote dignity, respect, and independence in resident care

• Maintain accurate documentation of care provided

Requirements

• Valid PSW certificate from a Canadian-accredited institution

• Minimum 6 months’ experience in long term care settings

• Current CPR and First Aid certifications

• Up-to-date immunizations and clear background check

• Excellent interpersonal and observational skills

• Willingness to work travel contracts and live in provided accommodations
