Job Overview
We are hiring a dedicated Labour and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment in Red Deer. You will provide expert care to mothers and newborns throughout the childbirth process—from early labour to postpartum recovery—within a collaborative and well-supported obstetrics unit.
This role is perfect for RNs who thrive in high-acuity maternal settings and value meaningful patient interaction.
Key Responsibilities

Monitor maternal and fetal health using electronic fetal monitoring and physical assessments

Provide clinical and emotional support during all stages of labour

Assist in both vaginal and cesarean deliveries

Manage postpartum care and breastfeeding education

Respond quickly to obstetric emergencies and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

Maintain accurate documentation in EMR systems

Promote a calm, safe, and supportive birthing environment
Requirements
-
Active RN license with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) or eligibility
-
Minimum 2 years of recent Labour & Delivery or Obstetric experience

Current BLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required

ACLS and Fetal Health Surveillance (FHS) certification are strong assets

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure

Fully vaccinated and clear vulnerable sector check
