Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Mental Health Inpatient Unit in Winnipeg. This role involves caring for adults with acute and chronic psychiatric conditions, delivering therapeutic interventions, and supporting crisis stabilization in a safe and structured environment.
The ideal candidate will bring excellent clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and a compassionate approach to mental health recovery.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct mental health assessments and implement individualized care plans

Administer psychotropic medications and monitor for side effects

Support patients in managing symptoms, crises, and daily routines

Use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviors

Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and behavioral health staff

Maintain clear and timely documentation in accordance with legal standards

Participate in care conferences, discharge planning, and psychoeducation
Requirements

Active RN license in Canada (CRNM or eligible for Manitoba licensure)

Current BLS certification (CPI or NVCI certification preferred)

Minimum 1 year experience in psychiatric or mental health nursing

Knowledge of trauma-informed care and recovery-oriented approaches

Strong communication, risk assessment, and emotional regulation skills

Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends
