Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Mental Health Inpatient Unit in Winnipeg. This role involves caring for adults with acute and chronic psychiatric conditions, delivering therapeutic interventions, and supporting crisis stabilization in a safe and structured environment.

The ideal candidate will bring excellent clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and a compassionate approach to mental health recovery.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct mental health assessments and implement individualized care plans

• Administer psychotropic medications and monitor for side effects

• Support patients in managing symptoms, crises, and daily routines

• Use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviors

• Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and behavioral health staff

• Maintain clear and timely documentation in accordance with legal standards

• Participate in care conferences, discharge planning, and psychoeducation

Requirements

• Active RN license in Canada (CRNM or eligible for Manitoba licensure)

• Current BLS certification (CPI or NVCI certification preferred)

• Minimum 1 year experience in psychiatric or mental health nursing

• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and recovery-oriented approaches

• Strong communication, risk assessment, and emotional regulation skills

• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends
