Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join a multidisciplinary surgical team in Victoria, BC. The OR RN will play a critical role in the preparation, execution, and post-operative care of patients undergoing surgical procedures in one of the region’s busiest surgical centres.

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub and circulate during various surgical procedures including general, orthopedic, ENT, gynecologic, and vascular

• Verify surgical supplies, instruments, and sterile field setup prior to each case

• Monitor patient safety, aseptic technique, and adherence to surgical protocols

• Assist in emergency situations with calm, efficient decision-making

• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists

• Document intraoperative care in alignment with hospital policies

• Provide patient advocacy and uphold best practices in perioperative care

Requirements

• Active RN license with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications

• Completion of a recognized Perioperative Nursing (OR) course

• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in an OR environment

• Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure

• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including on-call rotations

• Knowledge of infection control, patient positioning, and surgical instrumentation
