Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join a multidisciplinary surgical team in Victoria, BC. The OR RN will play a critical role in the preparation, execution, and post-operative care of patients undergoing surgical procedures in one of the region’s busiest surgical centres.

Key Responsibilities

Scrub and circulate during various surgical procedures including general, orthopedic, ENT, gynecologic, and vascular

Verify surgical supplies, instruments, and sterile field setup prior to each case

Monitor patient safety, aseptic technique, and adherence to surgical protocols

Assist in emergency situations with calm, efficient decision-making

Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists

Document intraoperative care in alignment with hospital policies

Provide patient advocacy and uphold best practices in perioperative care
Requirements

Active RN license with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)

Current BLS and ACLS certifications

Completion of a recognized Perioperative Nursing (OR) course

Minimum 1 year of recent experience in an OR environment

Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure

Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including on-call rotations

Knowledge of infection control, patient positioning, and surgical instrumentation
