Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Surgical Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment in Montreal. In this role, you’ll provide pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care to patients undergoing cancer surgeries, ensuring a high standard of clinical care and emotional support throughout the surgical journey.

This role is ideal for RNs with oncology surgical experience who are passionate about supporting patients through their cancer treatment and recovery.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with pre-operative assessments and patient preparation for surgical oncology procedures

  • Provide direct care during and after surgery, including monitoring vital signs and wound care

  • Administer medications, IV fluids, and blood products as prescribed

  • Collaborate with oncologists, surgeons, and other specialists to ensure optimal patient outcomes

  • Educate patients and families on surgical procedures, recovery plans, and post-operative care

  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in EMR systems

  • Ensure adherence to oncology safety protocols, infection control measures, and patient safety


Requirements

  • Active RN license with the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ) or eligibility

  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience in surgical oncology or a related clinical setting

  • Certification in Chemotherapy Administration (preferred)

  • Current BLS and ACLS certification required

  • Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and communication skills

  • Fully vaccinated and clear vulnerable sector background check
