Job Overview
We are seeking a committed and adaptable Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Inpatient Surgical Unit at a community hospital in Vanderhoof, BC. The RN will care for post-operative and medically complex patients recovering from a range of surgical procedures, including general, orthopedic, and emergency cases.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to surgical inpatients during recovery

Monitor patient vitals, surgical sites, and pain levels

Administer medications, wound care, and IV therapy

Coordinate with surgeons, physiotherapists, and discharge planners

Educate patients and families on post-surgical care and rehabilitation

Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with safety protocols

Promote patient mobility, comfort, and recovery progress
Requirements

Active RN license with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)

Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certification

Minimum 1 year recent experience in surgical or medical-surgical nursing

Strong clinical judgment and patient assessment skills

Experience in rural or resource-limited healthcare settings (preferred)

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and night shifts
